Travel Health services @ Harpers Pharmacy
Harpers Pharmacy is one of the few pharmacies which offers a comprehensive travel clinic. As part of our service, travellers are risk assessed, and can be given anti-malarials and vaccinations if deemed necessary. We offer a holistic service which covers all issues relating to travel. Best of all, our service operates on a walk-in basis. We have a service level agreement with a Care Quality Commission registered private clinic which allows trained pharmacists to supply all malaria prevention medication and administer vaccinations following protocols known as Patient Group Directions, which are developed and signed by a doctor and pharmacist. For complex cases which do not fit in with the defined protocol, we have referral systems in place. We also advise you on what vaccinations you may be able to receive from your GP as NHS funded. I have been operating these services for over 4 years in a previous post, and this has included training other pharmacists to operate such travel health services.

COVID-19

Changes to our operations and service

Please bear with us and be kind to our staff. We are exceptionally busy and re-organising our services to provide the best possible service.  Due to the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic we are having to restrict access to the public for certain periods of the day.

The closed periods enable the pharmacy staff to remain on top of the increased workload, keep the premises tidy and to have some rest.

  • Our opening hours have CHANGED. We are now open from 9am-12pm and 2pm-5.30pm Monday to Friday. Saturday 9am-2pm. We are closed on Sundays.
  • Delivery is now only available to the over 70s, people with underlying health conditions who have be written to by the NHS, people that must self isolate due to displaying Coronavirus symptoms and have no-one who can collect for them.
  • Please queue outside with 2m gap between each person.

We will be restricting numbers entering the pharmacy so you may have to wait outside. You must then stand well away from the counter and away from other people.

If you have a cough or a temperature please do not come into the pharmacy. Guidance as to whether you need to self isolate is available online at: https://111.nhs.uk

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE & COOPERATION.
