Harpers Pharmacy is one of the few pharmacies which offers a comprehensive travel clinic. As part of our service, travellers are risk assessed, and can be given anti-malarials and vaccinations if deemed necessary. We offer a holistic service which covers all issues relating to travel. Best of all, our service operates on a walk-in basis.
We have a service level agreement with a Care Quality Commission registered private clinic which allows trained pharmacists to supply all malaria prevention medication and administer vaccinations following protocols known as Patient Group Directions, which are developed and signed by a doctor and pharmacist. For complex cases which do not fit in with the defined protocol, we have referral systems in place. We also advise you on what vaccinations you may be able to receive from your GP as NHS funded.
I have been operating these services for over 4 years in a previous post, and this has included training other pharmacists to operate such travel health services.
